I DONT KNOW YOU

lately i've been getting a lot of comments like "do you have a sister?", "did you go to _____ school" "you look so familiar". i'm no stranger to comments like this actually i get that quite a bit. i guess there are a million people in the world that look exactly like me running around. today some chick asked me "do you have a cousin named amelia?" my response was "no, i'm not from here" and she looked at me like a grew another head. what don't you understand? i have one cousin that lives in california and she's in her 40s and not named amelia. then she said "she looks just like you". comments like that really piss me off. whenever you see the person that allegedly looks like you they never do. in my past experiences the person is not very attractive. so i guess everyone thinks i look like a chubby homely nondescript person that has been cloned about 2 dozen times.

last week i had a woman who is at least 35 ask me if i went to high school with her. im sure the look on my face read something like fuck off i wasn't even in high school when you graduated. again my response was i'm not from california. then she proceeded to tell me that she's originally from pittsburgh but they moved to california when like 17 and she graduated from whatever high school that i didn't go to. then the same woman asked me on friday where i went to college. she said "i know i already asked you about high school but where did you go to college?" so i said "i went to school in philadelphia, the university of the arts. i graduated in 2006" (emphasis on the 2006. and like the other lady she too missed the reference to the year i graduated which was probably the year she turned 38!

even if i thought i knew somebody i'd try to figure out how before i asked them about it and i'd maybe ask them their name to confirm it. so now not only am i nondescript but i'm old too. awesome.
