tutus & catastrophes
soo because i have so much free time, i've decided to start my own business. well i'm going to attempt at least. at the studio we sell tutus and the whole year i've been saying "i could make those" so several weeks ago i found a pattern online and i finally got around to making one on saturday. my mom thinks that this is a great idea so that in and of itself makes me feel confident. once in high school i went to one of those mary kay things and they give you the whole speech and i told my mom i wanted to sell mary kay. my mom pretty much laughed and said "yeah right." but this time my mom actually said "i think that would be perfect" now, my first reaction was she must be drunk but my mom doesn't drink. then on sunday my brother emailed me a picture of a tutu dress she saw at nordstrom. (people think it's nordstromS but it's not) the dress was beyond my realm of sewing knowledge but she must still think its a good idea.
yes i've made 2 quilts- but that's different than making clothes. i did 4-h as a kid (no i didn't show animals and i didn't grow up on a farm) but my grandma helped me. i still remember i made a pair of shorts that were emerald green with white polka dots with a stripped tie belt and a matching shirt with a green and white stripped collar (let's remember it was the 90's people) i wonder if my mom saved that...
on a totally different subject i'm completely addicted to this reality show on the discovery called "the colony" pretty much it's survivor meets the apocalypse minus the jesus. they are in a shelter and they have to find water and food, figure out how to get out, fend off marauders. i found it on demand last night and i've watched the first 10 episodes. the thing that gets me is
(at least in the first season) the people all know how to do things i'd never know how to do. i don't even know what a tesla coil is let alone how to build one! (i learned both those things from watching this show) one person is a doctor, there's an aerospace engineer, a computer programmer, an er nurse- there is not a dance teacher or a beer drinking packer fan. i'd suck at this show but it would be a great diet.
song lyrics of the day:
i spent so many nights
thinkin how you did me wrong
and i grew strong

july, kiss my ass
wow, where did july go? but i must say i'm glad to see it go.
i've been super busy during july.
i taught 80 hours, plus covering in the office.
i have been dropped from my health insurance because they just figured out i don't live in nebraska.
i applied for new health insurance and was rejected. awesome when you depend on daily pharmaceuticals to breathe!
my medical bills are off the chart from months of physical therapy. i might just go to costco and get a pallet of ramen and that's our meals for the next month.
i (big shocker) got in an accident so i need a new car door and can't get a hold of my damn insurance agent.
on friday i had a little girl pee her pants in class, which was odd because ashley (my boss) had a girl pee her pants in class the previous monday.
i'm still mad about my fall teaching schedule and was really stressed the past week over one of my competition routines. i start teaching it today and started making it up last night. i'm a last minute person.
i finally sent back the netflix i'd had for like a month and a half. one of them i didn't watch but i needed to get the next one for a class. however 2 of the 3 didn't come in time for the class.
i have decided to start a business making tutus so if you know any little girls that love to be fancy...
the bachelorette (or douchelorette as it is referred to in our house) finale is tonight. i hope the guys ditch her. alli is annoying.
our dvr has decided to die. it was restarting itself every 12 hours and caused me to miss so you think you can dance on wednesday. so yesterday the comcast guy brought us a new one and low and behold it doesn't work either! this one restarted 4 times in the first day we had it. so we are getting another one today. but i did learn that you can change the color of the menu and guide. most of the colors are pretty much the same. ours is now purple.
i am now an aunt of 8 rats that were born to my niece and nephew. taylor called me last night to inform me. they are pink. now if only they didn't have those gross long tails
so that's pretty much my update. not very exciting i know.
song lyrics of the day:
hold me down
i'm a balloon
and i'll fly away
