books and boogers

ugh i'm sick. it started monday when i woke up with a mild sore throat. i thought that it was allergies (damn no frost) but it got worse as the day went on. so low and behold i have a cold. needless to say my house is now a war zone of tissues and medicine and newspaper remnants. but i have still worked everyday. why should i shield the little boogery kids from my germs!? they certainly didn't have any problems sharing theirs with me. i must say i do feel better today i have periods of time where i can breathe through my nose.

tuesdays are sucky. i teach a class that gets done at 3 and teach another at 7:30. plus to make matters worse they're like 5 minutes away from each other and at least 20 from our house. sometimes i go to movies, or house hunt, but fearing i would fall asleep during a movie i went to borders. i looooove books and bookstores and buying books. quinn and i used to have an idea for a book store that only stocks books with the cover facing out on tables. genius i know. so i perused and found many that i want to buy. i picked up the newest book by one of my favorite authors and read a couple of chapters.

i've read all of her books except this one. i highly recommend them. i always thought it was weird to read a book you don't own at a bookstore. it's not a library. i thought the people who worked there might get mad that you aren't helping then make their sales goals. in reality nobody cared. i went almost unnoticed. plus reading serves as a great cover for eavesdropping. but today i became one of those people. i must say i know why borders doesn't care if you read before you buy. they figure if you start the book and it's good you will eventually have to leave and won't want to stop reading so you will buy it.

then tonight when i got home patrick and i watched up. i'm sick that's what i'm supposed to do. (yesterday we watched elf another one patrick had never seen)

i went to see this movie with my niece, nephew and mom and loved it. my mom and i both were crying messes. patrick of course didn't think it was sad. ugh boys. i cried again tonight but less than the first time. he made fun of me because i cried at an animated movie. i told him i cried at mulan the first time too. i got teary at hotel for dogs too and i don't even like animals. at least i'm not scared of a freaking sesame street movie!

song lyrics of the day:
i'm a bluebird,
that's been dreaming
of a rainbow i can follow

eye candy
i love a good cocktail. what goes better with cocktails than bling?! i love cocktail rings. i think it stems from my allergy to nickel so i avoided wearing necklaces and earrings for a long time. now there are a lot more companies that make nickel free options so i can go back to buying accessories again. ironically i adore large (and i'm talking large) rings when i'm not wearing them on an everyday basis but, as far as something like a wedding ring (not like i'm getting that one anytime soon btw) i don't want anything big and flashy. i'm sure i'll change my mind when the times comes though.

here are some of my favorite finds along with a delicious drink to go with. if you've got a cocktail in had you have to have a good ring to go with it! (i don't like all of the drinks but i'd accept any of the rings!)
