In the Neighborhood
ok so i know living in an apartment comes with a price. here in california it's the price of a mortgage but that's not what i'm talking about here. so we have some odd characters in our section of the 1001. let me first give u a visual of our our building is. so in ca it's very common to have the front door go to the outside world. we live on the second floor so there are stairs and then you go either to the left and come see us or to the right and see the freak family. then there is one apartment underneath on each side.

across the porch
when you first see the door to this apartment you see a do not disturb tag on the doorknob and in sticker letters on the door reads " hotel vic e" we have yet to find out what that means. when we first moved in we thought it was a couple in their 40s. we had seen either of them sporadically the woman i think is french. she likes to wear short shorts. she's way to old for them. then we noticed that there were always teenage girls coming and going so of course we thought prostitution ring. then one day i saw 2 high school age girls walking back from the pool into that apartment. so we figured they either live there or just use the pool. they have 3 cars and one has a school parking pass so we thought somebody is a teacher. well now we have deduced that there is a teenage girl that lives there. also, there is an allusive small boy that lives there too. i've only seen him once or twice. maybe he's their house boy. this family likes to play loud music (usually world music especially african/tribal- think world cafe live) and have the door open at the same time. the first time i saw into the hotel vic e i was overwhelmed by the smell. like putrid garbage. it was not a good experience.

underneath
when we first moved in there was a single lady with an orange car. now it's an asian family of door slammers. there's a mom (i think), a dad that sports purple crocs, two kids (one girl, one boy) and a slew of other koreans maybe a younger "western style" uncle sporting long hair and a grandma?? the kids are home schooled as we have deduced from the slew of books on a little table set up on their patio. if i could only get my hands on those kids... they run around screaming at the top of their lungs outside (including the parking lot-parent of the year award!) then one of them starts bitching and crying and then goes inside and slams the door. i'm not talking a slam where you're like ooooohh they're mad. i'm talking slamming the door so hard i think the floor is going to fall out from underneath me. the pictures on the wall rattle. this door slamming is every time they exit and enter the apartment. plus they were on my bad side to begin with when i came home one night and they were parked in my parking spot. and yes we know they are korean the dad told patrick and they have kimchi in bulk. we aren't making a general guess because we think all asians look the same. so don't go there.

catty corner
there are people that live under hotel freak i have seen them once or twice. it's an indian guy and a white chick i think. i always hear their tv when i come home. or hear them talking on the phone. they like to leave the sliding door open and are loud people. that's all i know about them.

yes living in an apartment complex can be crappy but at least i don't have to mow the lawn and i have a pool i don't have to clean. yes it's expensive and before you leave comments about moving back to omaha- we'll move back when we damn well feel like it. nothing you say will get us there faster. i am however very excited that i just found a husker fan bar close to us so that's where we'll be saturday!! go big red!!

on a side note i was watching la ink and asked patrick if i died would he get a memorial tattoo of me. he said no. i asked him how he would remember me. his response i'll remember you by using all of your stuff. what a romantic guy i have.

song lyrics of the day:
neighbor, neighbor, why you messin' in my life?
neighbor, neighbor, you've been talkin' to my wife,
tellin' her you seen me
runnin' wild the other night
